Trade finance conference of parties (TF COP)
TF COP (Trade Finance Conference of Parties) is a global initiative focused on addressing and ultimately closing the trade finance gap the shortfall between the demand for and supply of trade-related credit, particularly affecting small and medium-sized enterprises in emerging markets.
Bringing together public and private sector stakeholders, including development banks, central banks, commercial banks, insurers, fintechs, and trade bodies, TF COP aims to halve the global trade finance gap by 2030 and eliminate it entirely by 2040. The initiative was officially launched in Seville in July 2025, following the Washington Declaration adopted at a summit in October 2024.
By improving access to trade finance, TF COP seeks to enable viable businesses to participate more fully in international trade, supporting job creation, economic growth, and improved livelihoods. The initiative also works to embed trade finance inclusion within the broader sustainability and ESG agenda.
