Bank of Palestine CEO talks about ESG and innovation

Bank of Palestine CEO discusses resiliency in conflict zones

This video features an interview conducted at the 2026 Sibos conference in Miami, where the host speaks with a representative from the Bank of Palestine.

The discussion covers several key areas regarding the bank’s development and strategy:

Bank Overview and Purpose: Established in 1960 in Gaza, the Bank of Palestine has grown to be the largest Palestinian bank in the West Bank and Gaza. The institution is systematic, applying international standards and utilizing advanced financial payment systems. A primary goal for attending the conference is to engage with partners and correspondent banks to strengthen relationships.

ESG Integration: Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria are described as being part of the bank’s “core DNA” and value-based approach. The bank embeds these considerations into all its processes, procedures, and departments, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Youth and Innovation: Recognizing that approximately 70% of the Palestinian population is under 30, the bank is heavily invested in supporting the youth and women. By supporting the Intersect innovation hub for startups, the bank aims to foster a sustainable economy and build the right ecosystem for future prosperity.

Group Growth and Expansion: The Bank of Palestine has evolved into a larger group, which includes a leading payment platform (PalPay), an e-wallet system, and the Arab Islamic Bank, which is Sharia-compliant. Looking ahead to 2027, the bank plans to launch “Bank of Palestine Global” in Abu Dhabi, marking its first significant regional and international expansion.
