The Clearing House

The Clearing House Payments Company owns and operates critical payments system infrastructure in the United States, clearing and settling more than $2 trillion in transactions each business day across wire, ACH, check image, and instant payments.

The company operates the RTP® network, launched in 2017, which enables real time clearing and settlement of payments alongside the secure exchange of associated payment information. The Clearing House is the only private sector operator in the United States providing instant payments, ACH, and wire services, accounting for the vast majority of instant payments volume and a significant share of commercial ACH and wire activity.

Its affiliate, The Clearing House Association, is the oldest banking trade association in the United States and provides nonpartisan advocacy, research, and thought leadership on payments and financial system policy issues.
