Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS)
The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) serves as the central bank of Singapore. Its primary missions are to promote sustained, non-inflationary economic growth and to maintain a sound and progressive financial centre. MAS conducts integrated supervision of financial services, performs financial stability surveillance, manages Singapore’s official foreign reserves, and oversees the nation’s payment systems.
In addition to its role as the central bank, MAS acts as the financial agent of the Government and is responsible for issuing currency. The agency actively works to develop Singapore as an international financial centre, engaging with industry participants across trade finance, treasury, and capital markets to foster a resilient and competitive financial ecosystem. MAS operates with a global workforce and maintains its headquarters in Singapore.
