The Texel Group

The Texel Group is an independent, employee owned insurance broker specialising in credit and political risk insurance. Founded in 1997, the group works with financial institutions, corporations, commodity traders and development finance institutions, helping clients manage non payment and political risks and structure insurance around complex transactions. Texel has particular expertise across trade finance, structured credit, project finance, commodity finance, syndicated lending and capital relief transactions.

Based in London, Texel has offices in Brussels, Singapore, New York and Los Angeles, giving it a strong international presence across Europe, North America and Asia. Its work connects businesses with insurers across the global market, including Lloyd’s of London and public and private insurers. The group completed its transition to 100% employee ownership in 2025, reinforcing its independent ownership model.
