Emirates NBD joins Kinexys Liink to enhance cross-border payment verification

Emirates NBD, a banking group that serves the Middle East, North Africa and Türkiye, has partnered with Kinexys by J.P. Morgan to join the Kinexys Liink network, a blockchain-powered platform designed for international payment flows.

Through this integration, Emirates NBD will connect to Liink’s ‘Confirm’ application. This is a tool that enables participating institutions to validate beneficiary account details before they initiate cross-border transactions and it is designed to minimise downstream payment issues by confirming the accuracy of account details at the point of initiation.

Developed by J.P. Morgan’s blockchain business unit, Kinexys Liink facilitates peer-to-peer data exchange among financial institutions globally. 

Emirates NBD’s move, a regional first, is expected to deliver tangible benefits to other network participants by increasing transparency and reducing friction in payment flows tied to the Emirates. 

Anith Daniel, Group Head of Transaction Banking Services at Emirates NBD, said, “We see this as a step forward in modernising the infrastructure that underpins global transactions. As the network scales, so do the benefits, for both counterparties and end customers.”
