LSEG launches World-Check On Demand, bringing real-time risk intelligence to financial compliance
Live Updates
LSEG Risk Intelligence has launched World-Check On Demand, a platform that transforms how risk intelligence data is created and delivered to financial institutions. The solution provides real-time access to trusted sanctions data, politically exposed persons (PEPs) information, adverse media, and enforcement actions through an API-based delivery system.
According to new research from LSEG, 98% of financial institutions consider real-time data “important to their compliance workflows,” reflecting growing industry recognition that traditional screening approaches no longer meet operational demands.
As per David Wilson, Group Head of LSEG Risk Intelligence, said: “Navigating a new era of risk and compliance requires more than just data — it demands intelligence that’s real-time, accurate, and most importantly, trusted. With World-Check On Demand, we are delivering just that — enabling our clients to act faster, smarter and with confidence, while reducing operational cost.”
An outcome of industry challenges
The platform addresses the widespread compliance challenges identified in LSEG’s global study, “Operating at the Speed of Crime: The Case for Real-Time Risk Intelligence.” The research found that 80% of financial institutions report frequent onboarding or payment delays from outdated screening processes, while 75% cite excessive false positives as a persistent operational burden.
World-Check On Demand addresses these issues by continuously delivering risk intelligence at the moment of decision, rather than through periodic batch updates characteristic of traditional approaches.
The use of flexible APIs and AI-enabled data
The system uses flexible APIs that allow for integration into existing technology stacks. This enables financial institutions to enhance their current systems rather than replace them, incorporating real-time risk data into onboarding platforms, transaction monitoring systems, and other compliance infrastructure.
The platform also uses AI-enabled data processing to detect risk signals earlier, improve response times, and reduce false positives.
LSEG maintains transparency regarding data provenance and processing methodology, which may address regulatory concerns about “black box” compliance solutions.
The launch coincides with the 25th anniversary of World-Check, showcasing how the compliance technology has evolved from its early days to the current real-time, API-driven environment.
