Afriex strengthens global payments infrastructure with Global Innovations Bank partnership
- Afriex announced a new sponsor and settlement banking partnership with Global Innovations Bank (GIB) to support its B2B Payments API, enhancing settlement speed, regulatory coverage, and Global USD Account access.
- Afriex processes over $600 million in annual payment volume and serves remittance providers, payroll companies, ecommerce platforms, fintechs, banks, and other financial institutions across more than 35 countries.
- The partnership with GIB complements Afriex’s existing banking relationships with Choice Bank in Kenya and United Bank for Africa in Nigeria, building a global banking network combining local expertise with international settlement capabilities.
- This network enables businesses to move money seamlessly across emerging markets without building local infrastructure.
- GIB will provide faster settlement, expanded regulatory support, and operational resilience as Afriex’s transaction volumes grow, while laying the foundation for future treasury, foreign exchange, and global account services.
- The partnership became effective in Q2 2026 and advances Afriex’s strategy to become the financial infrastructure layer for cross-border payment products worldwide.
