Circle to acquire Tazapay to expand global stablecoin payments infrastructure
- Circle Internet Group announced a definitive agreement to acquire Tazapay, a Singapore-based B2B cross-border payments infrastructure company serving payment service providers and financial institutions.
- The deal is expected to close in 2027, pending regulatory approvals including from the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
- Tazapay processes over $25 billion in annualized payment volume, with 60+ banking and fintech partners and local payout rails covering more than 100 markets.
- Approximately 60% of Tazapay’s transaction volume already involves stablecoins, supporting Circle’s goal to accelerate USDC adoption globally.
- The acquisition aims to enhance Circle’s ability to originate and terminate near-instant, 24/7 payments worldwide, advancing USDC as a default payment rail for cross-border commerce.
