National Bank of Pakistan is Pakistan’s largest state-owned bank, operating as a full-service commercial institution serving individuals, corporates, and government entities. While continuing its role as trustee of public funds and agent to the State Bank of Pakistan in locations where the central bank does not have a presence, NBP has evolved into a modern commercial bank with a broad domestic and international footprint.
The bank operates an extensive branch network of more than 1,300 branches across Pakistan and maintains agency arrangements with over 3,000 correspondent banks worldwide. Its international presence includes 23 overseas branches across 11 countries, as well as representative offices in China and Canada.
National Bank of Pakistan has a diversified group structure, with subsidiaries including Taurus Securities Ltd, NBP Exchange Company Ltd, NBP Capital Ltd, NBP Modaraba Management Company Ltd, and CJSC Bank in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It has also recently established a subsidiary in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. In addition, the bank participates in several joint ventures, including United National Bank (UK), First Investment Bank, and NAFA Asset Management Company.
