ICC International Maritime Bureau
The ICC International Maritime Bureau (IMB) is a specialised division of the International Chamber of Commerce, established to combat maritime crime, trade-related fraud, and malpractice affecting international trade. Operating as a non-profit organisation, the IMB works closely with banks, insurers, shipping companies, and law enforcement agencies worldwide to investigate fraud, authenticate trade finance documentation, and provide intelligence aimed at protecting the integrity of global trade. Its activities span documentary credit fraud, cargo theft, ship and charter party fraud, and loss prevention, alongside the operation of the IMB Piracy Reporting Centre, which delivers a 24-hour global reporting service for maritime security incidents.
