ASEAN-UK Economic Integration Programme (EIP)

The ASEAN-UK Economic Integration Programme (EIP) is the UK government’s flagship economic cooperation initiative with the ASEAN Economic Community. It provides technical assistance, capacity building, and knowledge sharing to promote inclusive economic development and increase prosperity across ASEAN member states. The programme focuses on cross-cutting themes of digitalisation and inclusion, particularly for women and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

Key areas of operation include regulatory reform to improve standards and consumer product safety, as well as the expansion of quality financial services to foster greater financial resilience. Additionally, the programme works to facilitate open trade by reducing barriers for goods and services to increase sustainable and resilient trade flows between ASEAN member states and the rest of the world, including the UK.
