JPMorganChase has announced the expansion of its ambitious $1.5 trillion, 10-year Security and Resiliency Initiative (SRI) to Canada. This development builds on the initiative’s recent extension into Europe and reflects the company’s growing momentum in Canada, where franchise revenue has nearly doubled, and headcount has increased by one-third over the past five years.

Jamie Dimon, Chairman and CEO of JPMorganChase, said, “Canada has deep strengths on the world stage — rich in talent, abundant resources and is home to companies at the forefront of critical industries.”

“By extending SRI to Canada, we’re strengthening the vital industries and supply chains that underpin North American economic resilience, which is essential to shared prosperity and collective security.”

Overview of the Security and Resiliency Initiative

Originally launched in the United States in October, the SRI is a decade-long, $1.5 trillion commitment designed to facilitate, finance, and invest in five critical verticals – i) supply chain and advanced manufacturing ii) defence and aerospace iii) energy independence and resilience iv) frontier and strategic technologies v) pharma and healthtech

In Canada, JPMorganChase anticipates that the initiative will closely align with the country’s core strengths and strategic priorities, including defence, energy, mining, and the development of secure, resilient supply chains with trading partners.

Strategic Importance of Canada in SRI

David Rawlings, CEO of JPMorganChase Canada, will lead the initiative locally, overseeing its implementation and accountability across the country.

Rawlings will collaborate with clients as well as public and private-sector organisations to advance SRI’s multilateral objectives.

This includes providing banking and advisory support to select next-generation companies that are building critical capacity within Canada, the United States, and among global trading partners.

JPMorganChase is also playing a leading role in establishing the Defence, Security and Resilience Bank (DSRB), which will be headquartered in Canada.

The company’s involvement showcases its commitment to financing future defence and security objectives.

Canada’s selection as the DSRB headquarters strengthens its leadership in defence, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, and research and development.

Supporting Canada’s growth

Canada is drawing more investment to boost growth and economic stability, and JPMorgan Chase is expanding its operations to better serve its clients.

The company’s presence would support investment priorities and strengthen supply chains, which are critical to long-term competitiveness.
