Miami, September 28 2026 — BAFT, the Bankers Association for Finance and Trade, and Trade Treasury Payments (TTP) have entered a global strategic partnership. The annual agreement formalises a collaboration that has grown steadily over the past year, spanning joint publications, events and industry dialogue across trade, treasury and payments.

BAFT is the leading global industry association for international transaction banking. Founded in 1921 and now operating as an independent organisation, it brings together banks, service providers and the regulatory community across five regional councils covering Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East and North Africa. Its work in advocacy, thought leadership and education sits close to TTP’s own purpose of helping provide clarity to market participants within real-economy finance and transaction banking.

The partnership builds on a run of joint work. In May, TTP worked with BAFT and the International Chamber of Commerce to publish A Practical Guide to Documentary Collections, a practitioner-led guide launched at the BAFT Global Annual Meeting in Orlando. In March, the two organisations ran a joint programme in London to mark International Women’s Day, held alongside BAFT’s Women in Transaction Banking forum. Between these have come roundtables, panel discussions and on-the-ground coverage of BAFT events.

Looking ahead, TTP will be a visible and present strategic partner across BAFT’s international conference calendar through 2026 and 2027. That runs from the Africa and Asia Bank to Bank Forums in Nairobi and Singapore to the MENA Forum in Dubai and BAFT’s flagship meetings in the United States. At these events, TTP will report from the sessions, conduct interviews and, where it attends, may moderate discussions, giving practitioners who cannot be in the room a clear view of the debates shaping the industry. Furthermore, TTP and BAFT will extend their collaboration, partnering to host the TTP International Awards for Trade, Treasury and Payments, on 24 February 2027, as part of the programme of the BAFT International Trade & Payments Conference, taking place on 23-25 February, in New York.

The collaboration also deepens the two organisations’ editorial ties. Tod Burwell, BAFT’s President and CEO, sits on TTP’s editorial board, and Deepa Sinha, BAFT’s Head of Payments and Financial Crime, joins TTP’s Global Advisory Panel. TTP recognises BAFT as a strategic partner association.

Tod Burwell, President and CEO of BAFT, said, “BAFT has always been about connecting the people who keep trade and payments moving, and giving them a forum to do their jobs better. TTP reaches that same community with depth and independence. Working together lets us carry the conversations from our events to a far wider audience, and that serves the whole industry.”

Deepesh Patel, Editor-in-Chief and Managing Director of TTP, said, “We built TTP to serve the practitioners who make real-economy finance work, and to explain a fragmented and complex market clearly and honestly. BAFT has been alongside us from the start, through publications, events and education. Making that a global partnership means we can be present where the industry gathers, report what matters, and keep making the case that finance which keeps moving is finance that helps people prosper.”
