About the Event

The 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group (WBG) will convene in Bangkok, Thailand, bringing together central bankers, finance ministers, development officials, private sector executives, civil society representatives and academics. The meetings occur annually in Washington D.C. for two consecutive years, then every third year in a member country; Bangkok last hosted in 1991. This gathering reflects Thailand’s role as a regional economic hub and Asia’s central position in the global financial stability agenda.

The Annual Meetings provide a global platform to discuss pressing economic issues including the world economic outlook, financial stability, poverty eradication, inclusive growth and job creation. The event underscores the IMF and World Bank’s commitment to closer regional engagement and offers the host country direct access to the international economic community. A series of pre-meetings conferences—including the Asia in 2050 Conference (March 4–6, 2026) and the IMF Economic Review Conference on Power, Markets, and Strategy—will build momentum ahead of the October gathering.
