Embat, an AI-powered treasury and cash management fintech, has integrated J.P. Morgan Payments’ Banking Authorization Service (BAS) API for treasury services and payments, enabling joint clients to quickly and easily connect their J.P. Morgan bank accounts to Embat’s treasury management platform. This partnership combines multi-tenant management, self-service account activation, and high-fidelity data synchronisation, reducing bank connectivity time from months to days. Santiago Alcaraz Sánchez, Head of Strategic Partnerships and Integrations at J.P. Morgan Payments, said, “At J.P. Morgan Payments, we are focused on ensuring technology providers and their clients can connect to our services as quickly as possible, without compromising the rigour we require for every connection.” “This integration with Embat is a prime example of how we simplify banking, treasury and payment authentication to accelerate the value delivered to our mutual clients.”

Streamlining the bank connection process

Traditionally, connecting a treasury platform to a bank requires obtaining certificates through an external certification authority, a process involving extensive implementation time, data validation, and signatures that can take months before a client can begin operations. With this new integration, joint clients can authenticate and connect their J.P. Morgan bank accounts to Embat’s treasury platform in seconds, with no IT development required. Embat uses its own certificates for all connections with J.P. Morgan Payments, streamlining external certification processes that previously took months to complete. This eliminates a significant operational burden for treasury teams and accelerates client account activation. Antonio Berga, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Embat, said, “For years, bank connectivity has been a time-consuming and tedious process for finance teams. By collaborating with J.P. Morgan Payments, we have eliminated that hurdle. What used to take months is now operational within days, with no technical development required.” He added, “Clients simply sign the legal documentation authorising Embat to access their accounts. Once they go live, they have the benefit of making decisions based on real-time data, backed by Embat’s AI technology and the robustness and security of a top-tier bank.” J.P. Morgan Payments provides treasury management platforms with real-time access to financial data in J.P. Morgan bank accounts. Real-time balances, transactions, and payment data flow directly into Embat’s platform, becoming fully integrated with a company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and finance stack.

Benefits for multi-entity organisations

The integration is particularly beneficial for organisations with multiple subsidiaries or entities. Previously, companies had to replicate the bank connection process for each legal entity—a time-consuming and resource-intensive requirement. Leveraging J.P. Morgan Payments’ single multi-tenant certificate management connection—a single security setup that safely covers multiple subsidiaries — finance teams can now onboard and manage all corporate entities easily. This significantly reduces administrative complexity and accelerates deployment across global operations.

First-of-its-kind user interface integration

Embat will be the first treasury management system (TMS) to leverage J.P. Morgan Payments’ own user interface through the J.P. Morgan Payments API integration. This provides Embat’s clients with a fully connected experience where they can securely authorise access, manage their capabilities, and track their onboarding status from start to finish in one centralised hub. Factorial and Cazoo are among the first joint clients to benefit from this integration.
