UK Government
The UK government, referred to formally as His Majesty’s Government, is responsible for implementing national policy and delivering a wide range of public services across the United Kingdom. Its operations encompass 24 ministerial departments and 20 non-ministerial departments, collectively managed by the Civil Service to facilitate the effective running of the state.
Regarding trade, treasury, and payment functions, the government oversees critical infrastructure including economic policy, business regulation, and public financial management. Executive agencies such as HM Treasury and the Department for Business and Trade (or its successor entities) are responsible for managing public finances, promoting international trade, and maintaining transparent business environments, including the incorporation and dissolution of companies via Companies House. The government operates through a widespread network of departments and civil servants serving the public and business sector in the UK and internationally.
