TradeMark Africa
TradeMark Africa is a nonprofit organisation established to grow intra-African trade and increase Africa’s share in global trade. It works to make trade more pro-poor and environmentally sustainable by collaborating with regional and continental inter-governmental organisations, national governments, the private sector, and civil society. In 2022, it established a catalytic finance company, Trade Catalyst Africa, to pilot projects for trade infrastructure and increase access to trade finance for small and medium enterprises.
The organisation has an extensive footprint, operating in numerous countries including Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Somalia, Somaliland, Tanzania, and Uganda, with additional operations in Mozambique, South Sudan, and Zambia. Its efforts have contributed to regional economic integration, notably by reducing cargo transit times and border crossing times in East Africa and the Horn of Africa. It has also expanded its operations into West Africa.
