Entreprise Générale du Cobalt (EGC) is a state backed company established by the Democratic Republic of the Congo to formalise and responsibly manage the production, processing and marketing of cobalt sourced from artisanal and small scale mining. Working with government authorities, mining communities and international partners, EGC is committed to improving transparency, traceability and responsible sourcing throughout the cobalt value chain. Its objective is to strengthen governance while helping ensure that cobalt production supports sustainable economic development and meets the expectations of global manufacturers and investors.
