Its specifications are designed to be flexible, allowing for regional adaptation to meet national requirements and local regulations.
Collectively owned by American Express, Discover, JCB, Mastercard, UnionPay, and Visa, EMVCo focuses on the technical advancement of secure payment infrastructure. The organisation operates an Associates Programme to engage payment stakeholders in its strategic and technical direction.
