Commodity Futures Trading Commission

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is an independent US government agency responsible for promoting the integrity, resilience and vibrancy of the US derivatives markets through regulation. Its remit covers futures, options and other derivatives markets that are central to commodity-price risk management and treasury activities. The CFTC oversees market participants and market infrastructure, including designated contract markets, derivatives clearing organisations, swap execution facilities, futures commission merchants and commodity trading advisers.
