Embat, the AI-driven fintech specialising in treasury management, has introduced a new banking product designed to unify cash management, international payments and collections, FX hedging, account reconciliation, and more into a single, seamless workflow.

This one-stop solution aims to address the complex operational challenges faced by finance professionals in mid-market companies with international operations.

Global Banking from Embat targets persistent structural issues that mid-market companies encounter when managing cross-border financial operations.

The main challenges are the lengthy process of opening bank accounts in new countries, the gap between traditional banks and ERP systems, and the lack of transparency, along with high foreign exchange spreads that hurt profitability.

By integrating these functions into a unified platform, Embat’s solution reduces operational friction and enhances financial visibility, enabling businesses to optimise their treasury and cash management activities.

Key features and capabilities

Businesses leveraging Global Banking from Embat benefit from several advanced features:

Rapid local IBAN account opening. Customers can open local IBAN accounts in 22 countries within days, facilitated by fully digital Know Your Customer (KYC) processes, significantly accelerating market entry and operational readiness.

ERP integration. Every transaction is automatically synced with leading ERP systems, drastically reducing manual reconciliation efforts and improving data accuracy.

Comprehensive FX hedging. The platform supports hedging exposures in over 60 currencies, providing businesses with tools to manage currency risk effectively.

AI-powered tools. The product is underpinned by Embat’s proprietary AI capabilities, including its Agentic AI assistant, TellMe, which enhances decision-making and operational efficiency.

New hiring and strategic vision

Álvaro Dexeus has been appointed Director of Global Banking to lead the new product division.

Bringing extensive fintech and corporate experience, Dexeus previously worked as Managing Director for Southern Europe at Pleo and held executive roles at Deliveroo, L’Oréal, and Zipcar.

His background also includes significant banking and corporate finance expertise from major European banks such as Société Générale, Deutsche Bank, and Commerzbank.

He said, “Throughout my career, I’ve seen first-hand how even the largest multinationals are not immune to the operational challenges, silos and friction that exist within the European treasury, accounting and banking landscape.”

“While advances in financial technology have been a game changer, AI is taking this transformation to a new level. Embat is at the forefront of this change, and I look forward to playing my part in expanding the Banking division across Europe.”

Antonio Berga, Co-Founder and Co-CEO at Embat, added, “I’m delighted to have Álvaro on board. He brings an exceptional track record in building and scaling fintech businesses, and his commercial acumen and deep understanding of the challenges facing finance teams at mid-market firms will give our customers unique expertise.”

“This reinforces our strategic commitment to becoming the leading finance operating system for the European market.”

Embat’s Global Banking product is an advancement in treasury management for mid-market companies operating internationally. By combining AI-driven automation, rapid account onboarding, and seamless ERP integration, the platform addresses critical pain points and empowers finance teams to operate with greater efficiency, transparency, and control.
